During this season of London Fashion Week I made a conscious effort to take more risks with my make-up. I can often be seen sporting long lashes, contoured cheek bones and thick brows, but apart from this core signature look my make up doesn’t exactly push boundaries, especially in the age of the male make-up influencer. So for LFW, I decided to try something different, all with the help of Notino.co.uk my favourite online beauty store.
Notino are an online store that stock amazing luxury brands, as well as industry products that can be hard to find in usual high-street stores. Founded by Michal Zamec back in 2004, Notino has quickly established itself as a trusted online seller of cosmetic and beautycare products. In just over a decade Notino has expanded into 19 different countries! You may have heard me mention Notino in the past, either in person, in other blog articles or on my social media, but that’s simply because I have been so impressed with the products I have manage to source from them at pretty amazing prices.
So, a week before I jetted off to London for fashion week I did a quick order at Notino. Now I actually suffer with problematic skin, so the first step of my fashion week face is always foundation. I picked up one of my favourites by Dior, which is the Dior Star liquid foundation in shade 20 (light beige). This helps prepare my face with a flawless base ready to add contour, a bold lip and strong seductive eyes. The Dior Star Foundation is a long lasting foundation with medium to full coverage with brightening elements mixed within the formulation helping you look healthy, though with its lightweight texture you’ll never feel ‘caked’ or uncomfortable.

The next important factor for my fashion week face after a flawless foundation that hides my bad skin is a good shadow. I previous picked up the Soph x Make-up Revolution palette from Notino which has many stunning shades, all of which are perfect for this time of year. It has a white & black, with oranges, greens and browns so a huge selection in just one palette. The quality of Male-Up Revolution is fantastic for it’s high-Street price, and I took it with me to fashion week so that I could pick different shadow colours to match my outfits. It was as I was packing this product that I had a great idea, why not match my lip colour to my outfits for also?

I don’t know why I never thought about matching my lip colour to what I was wearing before, but as I’d be in outfits with strong colours I instantly knew it would be a bold move. I picked the L’Oreal x Balmain collection for some good quality but statement colour to take with me to London Fashion Week, and boy did the paparazzi love it! I wore a STARISCA Dress on day 2 of the shows which was green, and therefore matched that with a green lip using the ‘Instinct’ shade from the L’Oreal x Balmain collection and it elevated my make-up from being pretty to absolutely fashion forward.
Now on day three of fashion week, after everyone loved my green lip, I decided to go bold again. I wore a beautiful coat in blue, white and black by designer Holly McLeod, and I had the perfect shade to match, the L’Oreal x Balmain lipstick in ‘Rebellion’.

The photographers adored the looks, and I got photographed so many times with my photo running in countless publications. All thanks to a bold lip and killer attitude!
Now, no make up look of mine would be complete without a good set of lashes right? And that’s why I brought with me my favourite brand Kiss. This season during the shows I used one of their newer collections, the Lash Couture 5th Avenue range in Splendor.
As always they were super easy to apply, easy to wear throughout the long day, and as the quality of Kiss Products is so great, they lasted day after day (with a little TLC!) maximising the cost per wear rule!
So these were some of the amazing products I took with me to London Fashion Week, and with these small little steps, not only did I feel fabulous and my skin looked better than ever, but I was fashion forward and stood out from the crowd. Who knew that all it would take was a flawless coverage foundation, fluttering lashes and a bold lip? Would you dare rock green or blue lipstick?
Once again I was rescued by Notino and the sites huge selection of products. If you’re interested in recreating my looks or experimenting with your make up, then be sure to visit Notino.co.uk as they have such a huge selection at different price points so you’ll be sure to find a new favourite! For me, I’m now obsessed with bold lip colours, but what colour should I try next?
