LFW: Arriving wearing Rubino Roo...
As I prep for London Fashion Week I often try and source clothing and accessories from unique places. I’m someone who doesn’t want to wear the same items as everyone else as I like to champion personal style and channel my own aesthetic. This season on my hunt for fabulous pieces online I stumbled upon Rubino Roo.
Based on the outskirts of London, Rubino Roo is a small business whose aim is to bring you quality items at affordable prices. They stock everything from women's clothing to accessories plus a mens collection. They even have a really cute ever-growing stationery stash, so they’ve literally got something for everyone! Supporting small and new local businesses is something I champion, not only does it help the local economy but it’s friendlier as you can make friends and grow brand relationships plus you can pick up some beautiful items that aren’t mass produced and thrown at you like on the highstreet.
I’m always on the hunt for high quality basics, such as plain jeans, tops and jackets that I can intermix with my current wardrobe. Rubino Roo had a lovely selection of pieces online and I must admit I was impressed with the choice! I decided to pick a pair of good quality skinny jeans (let’s face it, I live in them!) and a cute jacket. Both were black but elevated with delicate design details that helped the pieces stand out, so they were basics but had details to help you stick out from the crowd. The beautiful skinny jeans were my favourite, so much so you’ll notice I wore them throughout London Fashion Week. They were slim fit and designed from material which had amazing stretch so they fit perfectly no matter your shape or size. The jeans also had shredded cut out details on the leg and an unusual shredded look at the ankle, which looked killer with heels!
The jacket I picked up is perfect for the upcoming season. Autumn can be a difficult time to dress, with temperatures feeling warm when the sun shines but as the wind blows those autumn leaves around it can feel extremely chilly. For this time of year a good jacket is essential and this faux fur collar black puffa jacket is perfect.
This was my traveling look as I strutted into London ready for Fashion Week. Not only did I feel comfy but I felt like the delicate details of the jeans and faux fur collar made the outfit look fashionable and elevated instead of plain and boring. I had many complements as I checked into my hotel and I felt fabulous. The quality of both items was fantastic and the only thing better was the price. Rubino Roo really has managed to source good quality pieces at fabulous prices. As a fashion writer and blogger you know that I’ll often try and style items in unusual ways, and when I first unwrapped the jacket from its packaging I knew I’d want to wear it off the shoulder. Another tip to make seemingly ordinary items look special or elevated is to wear them in an unusual way, something I do often. I styled the jacket off the shoulder with a vetements tee showing off the huge logo (let’s face it, at vetements prices I’m going to bloody feature that logo!).
Serving you some sassy streetstyle in my cute Rubino Roo pieces! I like to tell you all about new and unusual places to shop as I know how boring the highstreet can be. Plus there’s nothing worse than feeling killer and noticing someone is wearing the exact same look as you, which can often happen when you buy from a huge highstreet chain. Own your unique style and pick unique but totally wearable items from Rubino Roo. Below I’ve added the links to the items I’ve purchased plus some other items that I’ve added to my wishlist that I feel are totally killer. Now I’ve hit London in my Rubino Roo I’m ready for Fashion Week, so stay tuned, as I’ve got many fabulous looks to come....
