LFW: My Outfits

Just as quickly as it came, London Fashion Week has gone again, passing us by in a quick heart beat full of photographers, free champagne, street-style stars and Avant Garde fashion. This season we saw designers present their Autumn/Winter collections for 2018 and as always, I was in ore of the creativity and talent I encountered. Unlike last season, where I had an abundance of planned outfits to wear, I decided this time I’d pick one amazing street style look for the whole day. As the shows are a hive of frantic mingling last season I struggled to change looks, so this season I dressed to impress and committed to the pieces I’d put on for the whole day. Below are details of all my looks worn: Day One: Richard Quinn For the first day of fashion week I thought it would be best to kick off the shows with a statement! Naturally everyone is super excited for the opening of the shows so most people get extra dressy. Several months ago I purchased a few items from the Richard Quinn collection which was part of a collaboration with H&M as part of the H&M Design Award. One of the more outrageous pieces I purchased was a long floral coat made out of a polyamide/shell material. Originally when it was delivered to me I openly compared it to a bin liner and said I’d be sending it straight back, 10 minutes later I had it on my back and was sashaying around my bedroom with a grin on my face. It was safe to say that after I had tried it on I had fallen in love.

I teamed my coat with simple black pieces so that the coat did all the statement making, and so that I didn’t look OTT. Sometimes to pull off a piece like this you have to do some simple editing of your look. I wore plain clothes under the garment in black and some killer heels which were navy with a red design at the toe to help draw your eye down to see the whole look. As the coat was extremely oversized I used to waist belt to draw in my waist and help control the garment, which gave it structure at the top and fabulous movement and volume at the bottom, and can I just say, the paparazzi outside the shows went wild!

An interview with the beautiful Amelia from AIM Magazine at 9am kicked off the day, followed by shows & presentations running all day long with 2 Afterparties running into the night. With a packed schedule I knew I needed killer looks that could take me through each different event. This was the only day that I had more than one outfit to wear, but with my previous look being so successful with streetstyle photographers I really wanted to carry on the momentum.

The walking interview with Amelia was recorded on video and took place near Oxford Circus. Me being me, I arrived 10 minutes late but strutted out of the tube station wearing a look that made me feel fabulous. With checked pieces being all over the runways for AW17 and running into SS18 I channeled this with a checked jacket and matching slim fit trousers. To elevate the look I wore killer heels in black that matched my black Chanel Boy Bag and a black shirt that was worn under the checked jacket. I then wore a faux fur coat off the shoulder over the top of the checked pieces belted into place with a large black leather waist belt, tying all the pieces together into one great cohesive look. With the trousers being so slim fit, I also managed to serve legs for dayzzzzz and yes, it was another successful look with hoards of photographers outside the shows!

Ten minutes later I was rushing back for more shows and some killer parties. The weather was bright, clear and dry, however it was very chilly, so I felt a coat was needed. As I had some shows before afterparties I thought I’d create a look that could work on the streets as well as a party, and I knew as soon as I had that thought I’d wear my thigh-high denim boots. I wore the boots over black skinny jeans, with a T-shirt in a different shade of blue, with a navy shirt over the top and a waist belt. The idea was that on the streets I could wear a long navy coat and chicly flash the boots to photographers, Angelina style! Yet at the parties, I could remove the coat, pull the shirt off the shoulder at one side and slut drop in style with a glass of champagne!

Above is my work mode look, attending shows and flashing my legs to the paps as I make my way from venue to venue. Below is my party look, ready to slay and to have some fun and frolics with my fashion friends.

However, with the thought of fashion on my mind I got up, I painted my face, and got ready to slay another day. As a sex and the city fan, on this day I decided to do a slight spin of one of Carrie Bradshaw’s looks.

Naturally I wasn’t going to try and pull off a shirt as a dress, but the style of a crisp white oversized shirt belted at the waist looked fabulous. I channelled the look using a Vivienne Westwood oversized shirt. Due to the weather being so cold, I wore a grey turtle neck jumper underneath with a white tee. I belted the shirt with a black leather belt and wore black skinny jeans. Now I originally was going to wear killer heels with this look, however after a night of partying in heels my feet were just not up to it, so I wore some comfy toms, grabbed my Chanel Boy Bag and walked to the shows.

As I knew I’d be going from shows to New Bond Street and back again I picked a comfortable yet classy and sassy look. As seen during London Fashion Week Mens, I styled the waist belt once again, which is an emerging trend for men. I wore a grey turtle neck jumper, with a classy tweed white & blue jacket and black skinny jeans. To elevate my look and to tie in the black waist belt I wore black killer heels and carried my ever so classy Chanel Boy Bag. Serving you a classy yet sassy Chanel runway style look, and with that, London Fashion Week was over and I sashayed away.
