First of all I would like to say sorry for how long this review has taken, I have been sooooo busy! However I recently I got the chance to try the Forever Living range, though a good friend Seanie, whom I know from school. For the last month or so my skin has been awful so I jumped at the chance to try new products. I have always suffered with bad skin, but for some reason, whether it be the weather or stress, my skin has been extra irritated. I am the type of person that doesn’t usually deviate and try new products, especially if I know I already have a product that I like and it seems to suit my skin, and sometimes, because of this, I seem to get stuck in a rut with skincare!
Many of you may already know all about Forever as a brand, however to me it was new on my radar and I didn’t really know much about them. Forever is a multi-billion dollar company operating in over 145 countries affiliated with the world’s largest grower, manufacturer and distributor of Aloe Vera. It was founded in 1978 in Scottsdale, Arizona and for over three decades, have dedicated themselves to seeking out nature’s best sources for health and beauty and sharing them with the world. With a commitment to quality and purity, they are passionate about helping everyone around the world look and feel better. Forever Living Products began its operations in the UK in 1992 and has grown from nothing to being the largest provider of Aloe Vera products in the UK in a very short period of time.
Seanie, who is a representative of Forever Living, graced me with a beautiful hamper bursting with products to try out. Anyone that is in the same situation as me, with skin that just doesn’t seem to listen and be clear, understands that it can take a vast amount of money, and time, to find a product that will help without making the whole ugly face situation get any worse! After receiving the hamper, I was like a child in a candy store, excited to try each item out. I spent a few weeks with the hamper, and have picked out my favourite items to tell you about and review. After all, if it helps me and my skin, it may do just the same for you, so they’re worth a try!
Now the first product I want to tell you about is something I usually carry around with me everywhere, and I know many people that do. When I think of skin care, a hand sanitizer isn’t usually the first thing that comes to mind, but when given the hamper it was the first thing I picked out to use, if I am honest, not expecting much. The reason why this product made one of my top key items from this collection? because the smell was divine! Usually such a result-led product doesn’t wow me, yeah it sanitises my hands and that’s all I expected, but this really did go the extra mile. It was luxurious to use, didn’t feel sticky or gross and left my hands smelling clean and fresh long after the product had done its job and gone. This product was a pleasant surprise, a lovely little friend to keep in your bag (pictured above).
Now the next little gem I want to tell you about is above, the Aloe Lips balm. Yes I know, a simple lip balm, that’s what I thought too! Throughout the day I usually use a lip gloss or lipstick, without these my lips are awfully dry and because of this I have become accustomed to using products all day, every day. The first time I used this item was before bed, usually I rub Nivea on my lips before I sleep otherwise I wake up in the night with dry lips (Yes I’m that much of a princess). I used this product and the soft, moisturising texture, and it seemed to nourish my lips, and last far longer than Nivea does without being too thick or gloopy as I hate that! It contains Aloe, jojoba and beeswax so you can imagine how nice the texture was. This product was another surprise, something so simple that I didn’t realise I needed, but now can’t live without. I also heard that you can rub small amounts of this onto really rough patches of dry skin, so it’s multifunctional (that’s how you sell it to your other half to get them to buy you several, though it’s true!).
Ahhh another goodie! This product is beautiful to use, its thick and creamy, moisturising and does exactly what it says on the bottle, cleanses. Seanie mentioned when she gave me the hamper that many products by Forever are concentrated, and you can really tell with this product. It comes in a large pump dispenser (economical, I like it!) and as it’s a face and hand wash can sit on your sink ready for use, so after a busy day when you want to just get ready for bed, it’s there, waiting. Many products that are for both face and body etc usually leave my face feeling dry, but this didn’t, a great man product for someone who doesn’t want to faff around getting ready!
This next item is from the Sonya range, with is a range of Forever products that is more luxurious than the usual ranges. I used this not only as a serum but as a primer while doing my make up. It goes on like a dream, is soft like velvet but not drying like some products can be. I swear I was also told you can use this in your hair but I didnt dare personally. On sunday I tried this without make up also, as I usually dont need to go anywhere on a Sunday, I like to havea no make up day. This helped keep my skin soft with a slight matte finish, which I love. As it was slightly matte it also seemed to slightly blur any imperfections too, which obviously I loved!
These next items are obviously not skincare products, but perfumes. I'm the kind of person that will where whatever, men, womens or unisex. If I like it, then I'll wear it. I picked these out as some of my fave products from the hamper as I really enjoyed the fresh scent of the womens fragrance, especially on a hot day, and as for the mens, wow! Think of your ideal man, and think of what he'll smell like, and this is that fragrance, it was beautiful, not for me to wear as it was too manly for my glittery exterior, but on my other half, would be amazing, so take note! The womens 25th edition fragrance is a summer scent of petals with warm, musky wood tones creates a unique and floral fragrance. The mens 25th Edition Cologne is a fresh and sensuous masculine fragrance with an invigorating blend of fruit and herbal accents. This product also includes exotic wood undertones and subtle notes of Mediterranean lavender, refreshing iced pineapple and bergamot.
The Aloe Heat Lotion is a product I would never buy, and I almost didnt try from the hamper. I used this after a recent trip to Paris, I had walked so much that my legs ached and my feet were not exactly in great shape (I blame the Manolo's for that!). So I tried this while having a foot spa and at first I found it weird, obviously its a warming lotion, but I tried it again after the feeling wore off and I must admt I really liked it, I also liked the smell too. For people that attend the gym, or for after a busy day, this is a great product, and thats coming from someone that wouldnt usually buy anything like this!
The next three items are the last to have been picked out as products I enoyed using, and found that worked. The Aleo Lotion, which I used before bed and in the morning after cleansing, is a very finely-textured moisturiser to help condition your face and body (I tried it on my arms too). It contains nourishing ingredients like jojoba oil, vitamin E, collagen and elastin to keep the skin smooth and supple. Aloe Lotion is ideal to soothe dry, irritated skin and to use as an after-sun lotion, any dry spots? try this!
Next pictured is the Aloe Cleanser, it does exactly what it says and cleanses, I found that it wasnt drying too which is perfect. Its a gentle pH and moisture-balanced, non-greasy lotion perfect for removing make-up and other impurities. The light, non-irritating formula, containing vitamin C and jojoba oil, can be used morning and night to cleanse the skin and unclog pores to leave it looking and feeling refreshed.
The last item is a mask that I used on the last night of going though all the products, the Forever Marine Mask. The Forever Marine Mask contains natural sea minerals which deeply cleanse and replenish the skin whilst balancing texture. With moisturising and conditioning properties of aloe vera, honey and cucumber extract, this deep penetrating mask leaves the skin feeling refreshed and revitalised. Results? Left my skin feeling a little better? But I wish I had used it more than once to see what results I achieved with this.
So, my opinion? Overall, from all the varied products I tried from pefume to lotion, I found them to be of great quality. I also did note that the products seem to be consentrated and rich. Sometimes when a brand brings out such varied items, they can dilute the product range with substandared products, but this is NOT the case with Forever. Each product has something to offer in its own right, and I like that. I really did feel like a child in a candy store, or like me in Manolo Blahnik when I tried them. One thing I would like to note, is that I didnt have any reactions to anything I tried. Sometimes when trying new items, especially on your face, you can be very apprehensive as to whether they will suit your skin type or have a horrid reaction. With each item I was fine (thankfully!)
