Kenzo x H&M: The countdown has started...

It was back in May when the news first broke in regards to H&M's new designer collaboration for 2016, but due to me being so busy it was only today I realised I hadnt mentioned this on my blog at all! I am usually a fan of these collaborations from H&M, however due to extremely poor shopping experiences over the last few seasons (Mainly the Balmain and Isabel Marant collabs!) I have fallen out of love with the whole process. With H&M's collabs always being on point however, the news that the next collab will be with designer brand Kenzo, indeed fills me with slight excitement.

KENZO Profile

1939 Kenzo Takada is born in Himeji, Japan 1964 Kenzo Takada moves to Paris 1972 Kenzo holds his first fashion show in Paris 1983 Kenzo introduces menswear 1988 Kenzo launches his first perfume for women 1999 Kenzo Takada presents his final show 2003 Antonio Marras is hired as Artistic Director 2011 Carol Lim and Humberto Leon are appointed Artistic Directors 2016 On November 3, Kenzo x H&M launches worldwide

Kenzo Takada was born in Japan and moved to Paris in 1964 to start his fashion career. He then became known for using Asian and Japanese influenced style with the expert construction of European high fashion. He started out with a 'Jungle Jap' boutique located in Paris and decorated in jungle inspired decor. He began with handmade women's clothing, then in 1983 Kenzo started designing men and then kids and home collections in 1987. Today, it is an international luxury goods brand owned by parent company LVMH, that purchased the label in 1993. Since 2011, The founders of Opening Ceremony, Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, are the creative directors and head designers of the brand. Their aim is to shake up the 'jungle' world of fashion.[6] Their iconic tiger shirt and clothing has been worn by many celebrities and fashion bloggers including Beyoncé, Selena Gomez, Joan Smalls, Lorde, and Rihanna. Like Kenzo in the 1970s, Humberto and Carol decide to go up against the standard expectations of seasonal trends. They are said to be highly influenced by the environment of the 21st century. They collaborate with avant-garde artists, musicians, actors, and designers for each collection.

We currently do not know much about the collection, but from the teaser photos we have seen I am expecting something exciting, especially as in recent seasons Kenzo has been really on point with its collections. The H&M collab is due to launch on Thursday 3rd November... as soon as more photos are realised from the collection, I will be sure to give you a peak with my opinions!
