I previously mentioned the collaboration with & Other Stories and Rodarte on The HOWSTE Journal before the collection was officially released. It has been out for a few weeks now and believe it or not, items are still available to purchase online! Yes that’s right, you can still buy the items several weeks later…
Unlike the mass frenzied shoppers at the H&M collabs, the quiet announcement and lack of super celebrity advertisement means that the release of the collection went off with no fuss, and with no angry shoppers whom had missed out on prized items hyped up by the media. This collection was however featured in magazines and online, but unlike & Other Stories sister brand H&M, the release was relaxed, calm and grown up even. I didn’t shop the collection when it first landed. I did like some of the pieces, however I didn’t see many wearable items that I could pull off.
A few weeks past and as a shopaholic, every so often I looked online to see what items they had left, and each time they still had stocks of various pieces, and with that, I caved. I ordered a few pieces to try on, style up, and see what the collection was all about. I must admit that it was just as I imagined. Good quality garments, well put together and they were well cut. Below are some of the items I purchased and some of the fabulous looks I put together.
Above I am wearing the Rodarte x &OtherStories cardigan with a vintage Christian Dior bag from Designer Exchange. New Look black shirt, Topman black skinny jeans and Burton Menswear shoes (worn throughout). I loved the cardigan from this collection as it was designed to slightly synch at the waist which looked great (and made me look thinner!).
Above I am wearing the Rodarte x &OtherStories crushed velvet top in black styled with a red Lulu Guiness Lip Clutch Bag. I loved this top as its so chic to add a little texture, like above, to a plain outfit. I often wear shirts and my black signature skinny jeans, so a piece like this is a perfect addition to style up outfits.
Ahhhh now this piece was beautiful. Above I am wearing the Rodarte x &OtherStories wrap dress thatI have styled as a statement coat. It was well made, very weighty, and is a serious statement/event piece! Who says a man cant rock a dress?
This was another statement piece that I styled up, the Rodarte x &OtherStories wrap top. I wore it with my 2004 Louis Vuitton Multicolour clutch. The whole collection Oozed laidback, easy to wear glamour.
More laid black glamour and a Marilyn Monroe moment from another Rodarte x &OtherStories dress styled as a long overcoat. The whole collection gave us affordable Rodarte LA glam that was effortless and easy to wear and style.
