"No elegance is possible without perfume. It is the unseen, unforgettable, ultimate accessory..."

- Gabrielle 'Coco' Chanel

In the words of Gabrielle Chanel herself, fragrance is the ultimate accessory, and I must admit, I totally agree! I have been a fan of fine perfume since being a teenager, and because of this I buy a lot for myself as a treat, and as the festive season approaches, I will be buying a lot for gifting. As the month rolls on and we get ever closer to December, its probably a good time to think about Christmas gifting, either for fri...

Contouring has been big in the beauty world for many years now, and it’s something I have played with and practiced on my own face for a long time. Now with many people asking me about my cheekbones over the last few months I thought I would show you what I do on my own face, and give you some hints and tips along the way. Contouring isn't something we HAVE to do with our make-up, but the truth is that most of us are hooked and do it every day! Why? Because contouring visually restructures your entire face making you look and feel better. It makes y...

This season of London fashion week was one of the busiest and most stressful seasons that I’ve ever attended. I must admit, despite making lots of effort to attended as much as possible, I missed a high number of shows and was left feeling exhausted as I ran across London to all the various locations. However, enough about my time keeping skills and stress levels, this post is all about what I wore.

Once again, during this Septembers fashion week I was lucky enough to loan some amazing pieces from Fashion Crossover London. I have dealt with the Fash...

If you are a follower of my blog or social media pages then you will probably already be aware that I am a huge fragrance fan, and often shop at Notino.co.uk to find special fragrances to add to my collection. On my most recent browse of the Notino website I snapped up the Chanel No 5 L'eau fragrance, a lighter, fresher variation of the 1921 legend, Chanel No 5 Parfum.

No 5 L'eau Fragrance
Chanel No 5 L'Eau is the new fragrance,or variation of No 5, that aims to capture the more younger, millennial audience (just like myself!). The scent was develop...

August 29, 2019

I've been a little naughty this month, with London Fashion Week quickly approaching I decided to do a little Notino shop to stock up on new season make-up, fragrance and skincare. However I am going to admit straight away, that I only went on the website for one thing and I quickly started adding things to my basket, but who can blame me when the deals are so good right?!

For those of you that don’t know, Notino are an online beauty store that stock amazing luxury brands, as well as industry and high-street favourites. They have a huge range of prod...

Whilst streaming the ethereal Haute Couture shows in Paris, filtering through the trends for work and gazing in ore at the creations from some of the worlds best designers I noticed something a little unusual. Mascara was a "thing", namely coloured mascara and Avant Garde designed lashes. A trend that has very quickly filtered through to the highstreets from brands such as Dior, Yves Saint Laurent and Chanel cosmetics. Its a trend I have wanted to try as soon as I saw it hit the runway, the thought of powerful pink mascaras, gold glitters and the po...

As I strutted into the London Fashion Week show space at Truman's Brewery last season I heard a photographer mumble "Why are so many men suddenly wearing heels?". A flippant remark that I really didn't think much of at the time it was made, but the comment stayed with me, reoccurring in my head every time I went shoe shopping, which for me, is a lot! To some that don't live and breath fashion, or have any small knowledge of history, it could easily look like a quick trend that will come and go, something new and unusual, and while this maybe true, t...

I don’t usually paint my nails, but as summer sweeps across the UK I have had the urge to add a pop of colour to my hands as I attend those summer soirées. In the past I used to wear nail varnish most of the time, reapplying new shades every Sunday for the week ahead. In recent months however, as trends have changed and I’ve grown up with a busy job and time constraints, I find I wear nail polish less and less and I’ve become somewhat out of touch with good nails polish brands. This lead me to recently purchase a well known brand in the search of ne...

Oliver Spencer
For Spring and Summer 2020 Oliver Spencer presented a vision of easy to wear, deconstructed silhouettes in muted jewel tones, mixing traditional quality and craftsmanship with a relaxed, modern aesthetic. The muted jewel toned palette featured oranges, navies and greens mixed with ecru in traditional summer fabrics that have been reworked for a fresh, modern vibe. A collection that could easily be worn at home, to the office or even on a relaxed beach walk. Spencer wasn’t just letting the audience view his collection, he took us on a...

Hello HOWSTE readers! Saffy Khan at your service, once again. I have my own slice of the internet but today I’m all yours. This season started with a migraine and a panicked dash to make the first show, E Tautz. I wasn’t going to let a headache get in the way of SS20. So the show went on and I was there, FROW, taking in every satiating detail.

I Left craving a Terry’s chocolate orange, which is almost blasphemous any time outside of December if you ask me. I blame Patrick Grant, the designer behind this seasons rich colour palette. Oxblood...
